Real Wedding, Romilly & Tom

How did you meet? – We met at Sheffield University through a mutual friend when we were 19

Russ’ proposal – Russ proposed after taking me on a surprise weekend away to Stow-on-the-Wold in February.  We went on a very cold walk and we stopped at the highest part of the Cotswolds for a hot chocolate when he got down on one knee!

Why West Heath? – Asides from being a beautiful venue, it was very close to my parents house and the church where we got married.  The staff at West Heath were so attentive and were always there to help or offer advice.  We also loved the fact that money spent on the venue was going to a really good cause which made it seem even more special

Romilly’s Hen’s do – My girls took me to London where we had prosecco in the park along with some silly games and in the evening we went to a life drawing class which was brilliant!

Russ’ Stag – Russ survived a weekend in Dublin where they did clay pigeon shooting and from the sounds of it, visited every bar in Dublin!

Romilly’s dress Something old, new and blue? My dress was a beautiful sheath dress by Lillian West which I found in Tamworth near where I live.  I actually forgot about the ‘something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue’ thing!  My aunt loving gave me a necklace with 3 diamonds in which used to be in a ring that my Grandmother owned.  I had lots of new things but nothing borrowed or blue!

Russ’ suit – The suits for Russ and his best men and ushers were all from Slaters

Venue décor – Decorated lovingly by family and friends.  It was great to see everyone getting creative on the day and because the venue is so beautiful, you really don’t have to do too much inside

Photographer – Catherine and Andy who own White Stag Wedding Photography were amazing and so much fun.  They really captured the feel of the day.

First dance – We debated up until a few days before the wedding!  We went with ‘forever in blue jeans’ by Neil Diamond.

Romilly’s favourite moment on the wedding day – Walking into the dining room for the wedding breakfast, everyone was whooping and cheering so much, it was so lovely to see all our wonderful friends and family all together.  On that note, the food was absolutely amazing and many people told us it was the best wedding food they had had (we had the duck confit for our main!)

RussRuss said exactly the same! So I made him think of something else!  He also loved the relaxed drinks reception, we were fortunate to have nice weather so we were outside.
